Poon Hill

Posted in Compilations, Images - Nepal with tags , , on January 1, 2010 by Lloyd

These 3 shots were taken on a walk from Ghorepani up to Poon Hill, 3210m above sea level. The potentially life-threatening Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) will start to develop above 3000m, so many people trek up Poon Hill to help acclimatise to the altitude. Poon Hill also has some of the best views of the Annapurna’s on offer, and it was unfortunate that the summit was covered with cloud when we went up there. Happy New Year!

Parsley, Capsicum and unknown.

Unknown no longer! It’s an onion flower. Thanks Geoff.

Vegie Patch - Compilation - 2009

I essentially have no landscape images left, so unless I can dig up some old stuff, it’s going to be this type stuff for the next two weeks. I’m planning a trip to Lake Monger and to the Stirling Ranges (borrowing a dSLR from my photography teacher) around then. After that I have a month in Nepal, so by Christmas time I should have a good supply of photos to last me throughout next year. So for now, enjoy short depth of field!!

Yugoslav Folksongs

Here’s something a bit different. I was sorting out my choir music from last term when I saw this piece of sheet music, which we performed for the end of year concert at my school recently. The piece is entitled ‘Yugoslav Folksongs’ and has 6 movements. My friend Fletcher even has a couple of solos here and there as well. It’s a very good piece of music, both aurally and visually. So here it is, my first foray into the photographical world of compilations!
